Named for the famous 16th Century Renaissance artist Raphael, The Raffaellesco pattern was inspired by Raphael’s frescoes in the Vatican palace. The central motif of the pattern is the dragon, a good-natured God who was thought to bring good luck and fair winds to sailors. Today, Italians believe that having a piece of Raffaellesco is your home will bring good luck.

Ceramiche Sberna is one of the most important factories in Deruta, which is famous the word over for their lovely handmade Italian ceramics. Sberna was founded in the late 1950’s by Francesco Sberna, a master craftsman of majolica. Today, Sberna is known for their superb craftsmanship and beautiful traditional designs.
