The dragon of Raffaellesco was taken up by the master craftsmen of Deruta who reinterpreted frescoes of Raffaello. The famous painter of Renaissance was in turn inspired by the anthropomorphic figures discovered ate the end of the 1400s in Domus Aurea of Nerone.
Founded in 1932, Fratelli Mari Maioliche is one of the oldest and most prestigious companies in Deruta producing fine, handcrafted majolica. This family run business made a name for itself through the world, and won recognition to various exhibitions and competitions. F.lli Mari continues the age-old tradition of producing the best examples of the majolica tradition. Every single piece is hand painted by the artists at the Fratelli Mari factory located in Deruta, Italy.
