Hand painted rooster pitcher 2 Liter 11" with Arabesco Turchese decoration. The Arabesco decoration was born in the seventeenth century and depicts a bird hidden among undulating branches, with dense foliage, flowering branches and clumps of flowers. In this case it's made entirely with the turquoise color.
The MioCocorico's shape is made specifically for F.lli Mari Maioliche in the early 60's by a Turkish printer who came to Deruta. The shape, which is the exclusive property of F.lli Mari Maioliche S.r.l., has been registered in Europe and any type of reproduction is prohibited without authorization.
Founded in 1932, Fratelli Mari Maioliche is one of the oldest and most prestigious companies in Deruta producing fine, handcrafted majolica. This family run business made a name for itself through the world, and won recognition to various exhibitions and competitions. F.lli Mari continues the age-old tradition of producing the best examples of the majolica tradition.
